The Shire of Corrigin has reviewed the list of heritage places in our district and seeks public feedback and comment on the draft Local Heritage Survey (formerly Municipal Heritage Inventory). The Local Heritage Survey lists and describes buildings and places that have played an important role in our history and/or are special because of their architectural style or association with an individual or the community.
The review process commenced in 2017 was undertaken in line with the requirements of the Heritage Act 2018. The review involved updating and providing additional information on the 197 places and sites included in the existing 1996 Heritage Survey.
In addition to the information in the Local Heritage Survey, a set a Development Guidelines has been developed for the Main Street Precinct to ensure a balance is maintained between the development of future buildings and conservation of the existing heritage values.
The draft Local Heritage Survey is now available for public comment and can be viewed at the Shire of Corrigin Administration Office 9 Lynch Street Corrigin between 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday - Friday or can be downloaded below.
