HAZARD PERCEPTION TEST (HPT)

Published on Thursday, 3 May 2018 at 12:53:36 PM

The Shire now has the HPT service available for Learner Drivers.

HPT is a computer-based test featuring a series of video clips of traffic situations, used to measure your ability to assess road hazards and make safe driving decisions. The test requires you to respond to each situation by clicking the mouse to indicate when it is safe to commence a manoeuvre or when you should take appropriate action to reduce the risk of an accident.

A Hazard Perception Test Simulator (online) is available for you to try a 'sample' test at home, before coming in take your real HPT test. Visit the Department of Transport WA website www.transport.wa.gov.au/…/step-3-complete-hazard-perception…

No booking is required for a HPT but be advised the process can take 45 minutes, so please allow enough time to complete your test during Shire office hours, 8.30am - 4.30pm.
