Our councillor profile is

Ives. A way of putting
the Councillors, “on the
spot” but a great way
to put your Council
before the community.
Today is my turn, so I will introduce myself.
I am Des Hickey, and have been involved with the
Council since 2009 and currently in the middle of
my second term as a Councillor.
I feel the commitment of being a Councillor is only
part of why you take on this public role.
For me it was and is about our community and
building a better community into the future.
Corrigin has the soundness and security of a
community that has worked together over many
years to be as strong as it is today.
Great values, that encouraged us to become part
of this community in 2004.
My time as a Councillor has been rewarded by
major and minor projects being completed within
the Shire and the future plans that have been
formulated for the future, makes an exciting time to
be involved.
The support the Shire has for many community
projects are balanced by the work put in by the
dedicated staff.
I do enjoy many aspects of our community and
enjoy my time with family and friends. My business
has always been an important focus and my
involvement in sport at different levels has always
been an important part of my life.
