Corrigin Centenary Celebrations 2013

04-06-2009

Council recently discussed the issue of Corrigin’s Centenary and decided that the most appropriate time to celebrate it would in be in the year 2013, 100 years from when the town was gazetted.  The Shire would like to encourage the community to get involved in the celebrations and has formed a small organising committee to start the process.

At this early stage the committee is looking at various ways to celebrate this event throughout the year. The idea is to have a range of functions, beginning with the Australia Day breakfast. Following this, each club and organization would hold its own event at an appropriate time. The celebrations would culminate at the Annual Agricultural Show with events being held Friday evening through to the Sunday, recognising the Centenary.

If you have any suggestions for the committee, please submit your ideas in writing to the Shire’s Community Development Officer, Heather Talbot through the Shire Office.
